REMINDER: The first of the Loddon Plains Landcare Network Workshops is being held next Wednesday 2nd May from 7pm-9pm at the Wedderburn Community Centre.
The workshop aims to encourage members of the community to come and share their knowledge of local environmental assets that they
value and would want to see conserved or managed into the future.
At the workshop individuals will be encouraged to add such information, in
the form of notes, map references, word of mouth etc, to information
already gathered by the LPLN. The night will run as follows:

Loddon Vale Landcare Group News
The Loddon Vale Landcare Group gathered at Durham Ox by the
Serpentine Creek on the 25th of March, 2012. The site will be the future location of a fishing platform, a current project of the group that will open in September. The site is to be rented and managed by the group from the Crown.

Lawrie Maxted talked about the site,
the popular use by the community and a recent visit by the Wycheproof Probus
group.

Harris spoke about the fishing platform project in detail, including the
agencies that have been contacted and the many collaborators that have been
required on the project since it was floated 12 months ago. Those present discussed the construction and design of an information booth for the site.
Anthony Gallacher, the new landcare facilitator for the
Loddon Plains Landcare Network introduced himself and spoke about the network,
his role and the community workshops planned for the beginning of May.
